About the Role:
The finance/payroll associate will help the Group Purchasing department with processing work in accounts receivable, accounts payable, as well as supplier and account reconciliations. The associate will also assist with Payroll tasks to support the operations of the department. The finance associate is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of accounting and payroll transaction work, supporting needs of clients and other general accounting functions.
Other key responsibilities include:
- Performing Payroll support and reconciliations (pension/benefits).
- Provision of customer service to internal and external clients.
- Excellent communication skills, in particular verbal and written communications.
- Working with a leading cloud-based software solutions, including trouble shooting client issues and responding to client with solutions.
- Performing other general accounting functions.
Qualifications:
As the ideal candidate, you have experience in payroll & benefits, general accounting and finance functions, e.g. accounts payable, accounts receivables, general ledger, account reconciliations, etc. Excellent verbal and written communication skills for working with clients and customers, and a high level of capability in the areas of analytical, and problem-solving skills; ability to organize and prioritize work. Experience in MS Office solutions (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.), payroll system solutions (Payworks, etc.) and using financial systems and databases. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively work with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community. You have a college diploma in business, or university degree in business with a minimum of 3 years of related experience. Payroll Compliance Professional Certificate (PCP) would be an asset.
